JFRD Honor Guard and Pipes & Drums Travel to Colorado Springs to Honor Fallen Firefighters

September 19, 2025
On Saturday, September 20th, Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department Honor Guard and Pipes and Drums members will participate in the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial ceremony in Colorado Springs, CO.
The annual ceremony honors the lives and sacrifices of firefighters from across the nation who have died in the line of duty. This year, JFRD firefighters Heath O’Shea and Jason Woodruff will be memorialized. Their names will be added to the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial Wall, joining thousands of others whose service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

JFRD’s Honor Guard and Pipes and Drums will stand with and escort the O’Shea and Woodruff families throughout the event, a solemn tradition that reflects the fire service’s enduring promise to care for the loved ones of those who gave their lives in service to others.

The IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial ceremony will be livestreamed, allowing families, friends, colleagues, and community members to participate in this national moment of remembrance.
