Allen Mason, Prevention Division Chief

Chief Allen Mason leads Jacksonville Fire and Rescue's Prevention Division.

Allen Mason has served the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department since April of 2008 and currently holds the position of Division Chief of Fire Prevention, also known as the Fire Marshal. In this role, he manages the Fire Prevention Division, overseeing fire inspections, plans review, public education, and compliance efforts across the City of Jacksonville.

Chief Mason began his fire service career in December 2006 with Clay County Fire Rescue. He has advanced through the ranks as Firefighter, Engineer, Lieutenant, Captain, District Chief, and Deputy Division Chief before his appointment to Fire Marshal.

He holds an Associate of Science Degree in Fire Science, is certified as a Hazardous Materials Technician and Paramedic, and is a member of the Florida Fire Chiefs Association, the National Fire Protection Association, and the Florida Fire Marshals and Inspectors Association.

As Fire Marshal, his vision is to provide for the safety of all citizens, visitors, and first responders of the City of Jacksonville.
