Terrance Holmes Training Division Chief
Chief Terrance Holmes leads Jacksonville Fire and Rescue's Training Division.
Terrance Holmes currently serves as the Division Chief of Training for the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department, a role he proudly holds after beginning his career with the department in 2003. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Administration from Columbia Southern University and has dedicated over two decades to service, leadership and the development of others in the fire service.
Throughout his career, Chief Holmes has cultivated a deep passion for mentoring and training those under his supervision. While he has earned numerous accolades including life saving awards, unit citations, and his appointment as Division Chief, his greatest point of pride is seeing every firefighter who served under his command advance in their careers and earn rank.
Guided by his personal mottos, "It’s not on you, but in you" and "I treat the janitor and the CEO the same," Chief Holmes embodies respect, humility, and integrity in all areas of his life.
Outside of his role as a first responder, he actively mentors and speaks to youth in the community, inspiring the next generation to pursue excellence. He also enjoys traveling and has recently developed a passion for hunting.
