JFRD Engineers Donald Murray and Bradley Judah were part of the search team that located Bailey. Using the skills they have honed as part of JFRD’s Special Operations Team, Murray and Judah applied their training in search and rescue operations to help bring this mission to a successful outcome.
The effort was conducted through the Missing Endangered Person Search and Rescue (MEPSAR) partnership, which uses data about the missing person to create zones of probability where the person is most likely to be located. JSO and JFRD combine their resources through the MEPSAR process when vulnerable persons go missing locally. Since its inception in 2020, this program has achieved a 99% success rate.
“Search and rescue is at the heart of what we do,” said JFRD Fire Chief Percy Golden. “This successful outcome highlights the value of our Special Operations training and the strength of our partnership with JSO. Most importantly, it brought a mother home safely.”
JFRD is honored to play a role in outcomes like this and remains dedicated to protecting Jacksonville’s residents when they need us most.
